This may be the best drone you could get for someone who wants to get into it as a hobby. Very nice and easy flight characteristics, long flight time, decent camera quality given the price, and a great GPS system all In one package! Some have complained that the range of the drone is not good. From my experience, it depends on the level of interference. I have gotten my drone out to nearly 400 meters and still maintained connection in an open field behind my home, but flying it between my own house and neighbor's house dramatically reduced the range to about 50 meters. I also recommend turning off your cell signal temporarily to eliminate interference from it. Battery life is supposedly about 20 minutes, but I've never pushed it beyond 15 - mainly because the app starts to reduce the capabilities of the drone at 40% battery. Either way more than enough flight time to perform what ever you need it to! As far as features and performance goes, based on my experience with the drone and specifications, I consider it on par with more advanced drones like the DJI Phantom 3. Camera quality is where it starts to fall behind such drones. The 720P camera is a bit grainy and some pictures appear to have a pink filter over them despite me not editing the pictures at all. Also, because the camera has no gimbal, photos can be slightly distorted or blurred. There is no way to adjust the camera, either, although I suspect a retrofit of a better camera is possible (although at that point you might as well just but the H501A). If you really want a better camera for less than a DJI or Parrot, then there is upgrades that are designed specifically for the Hubsan H501 series to carry what ever camera you want, and they only cost around $25. I've never dried one personally but maybe someday I will. Overall I'd say it's the perfect drone for beginners like myself and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wanted a truly good and in-expensive drone!

this is a great drone. controls are very responsive. the features defiantly match those of the more expensive drones. the fixed camera is the only con for this drone. fast, and easy to fly. only problem I have is that I can not fly this drone with my android phone only. which is ok with me. I prefer using the joysticks. if I use my android phone to fly the h501m, the drone takes off flying to the right soon after take off with no way to control it, but connect the phone and the controller and it fly's awesome. I've flown this drone in 7mph winds. very stable. LED light are easy to see. I upgraded my controller from the ht009 to the Ht 011a controller. haven't got to use it yet, but I hope to soon. I'm hoping to get more range. nice job husband for a great inexpensive product!
